First grade students have been studying different countries and cultures in library, art, music and PE this semester.  Students have been learning facts about various cultures and creating passports of their travels.  In addition to reading books set in various countries, students have been learning traditional African music, creating Chinese paper lanterns and learning sports from South American countries.

Special area teachers recently hosted an assembly for first grade students which included guest speakers from Pakistan and Ghana.  Neesa Sultan spoke about traditions and holidays in Pakistan.  Alex Padi spoke about sports and education in Ghana.  A special thank you to Ms. Sultan and Mr. Padi for helping our students gain a global perspective.
